Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in southern California where I met my husband. We moved to Washington seventeen years ago. We have four busy daughters. My two oldest daughters are married, and they both have children.  My next daughter is a CNA, and my youngest daughter is trying to figure out what she wants to do professionally.

I graduated from Western WA University eleven years ago where I received my teaching certification. It was a challenge attending school full-time and being a busy mother of four. I have taught at both private and public schools in Whatcom County. I’ve taught at 18 different schools from grades kindergarten to eighth grade. I’ve taught 5th/6th grades at Cornerstone Christian School the last eight years. It’s been a blessing teaching at CCS and I have really enjoyed getting to know the faculty, parents and students. I’m excited to be teaching at CCS this year!

Teaching at a Christian school, it’s my obligation to not only teach Bible stories but to pray with my students, read His word regularly and show how it relates to our lives.  As a result, I can talk about God’s promises and His redemption; showing students where we fall in His redemptive plan.  I believe each child is a unique individual who needs to be in a learning environment that is safe, stimulating, and conductive to each child developing intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Students are not the only learners, teachers are learners as well, showing their passion and interest in what they are teaching, learning along with their students.
