I’m Naomi Bormuth and I teach Spanish to 11th and 12th grades. I graduated from Dordt University with a BA in elementary education and a minor in English/Language Arts. I studied abroad in Honduras for a semester and then taught 4th grade there for three years. After moving back to the States, I taught Spanish to grades 1-8 for two years, taught 3rd grade for a few years, and then subbed off and on while our kids were young.

My husband and I have three children, as well as a dog (who thinks he’s our fourth kid) and two pigs, Check and Mate (who might be replaced each year with a new Check and Mate). My family and I enjoy living on 40 acres in Alger, caring for our property and the creatures that call it home. In the spring and summer we love to boat in the San Juans (crabbing, shrimping, fishing, exploring) and harvest a wide variety of fruit from our property.

I am honored to be on staff at Cornerstone Christian School. What a blessing to belong to a Christian community that seeks to serve Jesus in all aspects of life. It is a gift to introduce students to the Hispanic culture and language, helping students deepen their appreciation and respect for their fellow-image bearers of Christ.
