School Cleaning Information

• We have 5 families scheduled to clean one zone each every week; we start right at school ending (2:35) & it usually takes about an hour.
• The Janitor room contains everything necessary for cleaning as well as replenishing bathroom and classroom supplies.
• We have 3 different cleaners in spray bottles: window/glass cleaner, multi-purpose & floor cleaner, and bathroom cleaner.
• Zone lists are on the bulletin board on the wall outside the Janitor room; each family is required to complete their assigned zone.
• Please pick up larger items before vacuuming (i.e., bobby pins, paper clips, eraser bits); the vacuums cannot handle them.
• If you come across something that needs fixing or extra attention, please let the ladies in charge of cleaning know.
• Children are encouraged to help, but parents must ensure that their jobs are completed and done well.  Please keep an eye on your little ones; do not let them use the teacher’s markers, write on the whiteboards, go through desks, or take things off of shelves.  Please keep children who are not helping you clean outside as much as possible, or use the gym if it is not being used.
• If you cannot clean and would rather pay someone, please get in touch with the ladies in charge of cleaning for a list of people willing to clean for cash.  It is $35 per cleaning.  If you would like to be added to this list, please let the cleaning ladies know.
• Out of respect for your fellow cleaners, please note:
  • You are responsible for making your own trade(s) if your scheduled week does not work out for you.
  • When you make a change, please let the cleaning ladies know so they can update the schedule.
  • If you are not able to start immediately after school (by 2:45), please let your fellow cleaners for that day & the cleaning ladies know that you will be there, but you will be a bit later.
